A few months ago, in Scarsdale where I live, a new gelato store opened up called Mimi's. The store is owned by the same owner of a bakery store across the street called Martine's. Neither store is big enough to do the baking or preparation to make the baked goods or gelato they sell. They have a much bigger facility in another town and are constantly bringing the products to the stores by van. The bakery has been one of the most successful businesses in Scarsdale for over a decade. Here is an overview of the gelato store:
a. Very small space, maybe 100 sq feet.
b. Basically, just the serving area and one very small table inside. Half a dozen small tables on the outside under the train station roof.
c. Just serves gelato and a few types of drinks.
d. Like an ice cream store, you can get the gelato in various types of cones or cups, various sizes (1 scoop, 2 scoop, baby, etc.), toppings, etc.
e. They are open for about 11 hours a day, from late morning till 10:00 pm daily. Usually have two employees running the store.
f. They do accept take-out orders over the telephone.
g. No bathroom facilities. Does have heating and air-conditioning.
h. Mandated board of health sink so employees can wash hands and serving utensils, etc.
i. Like an ice cream store, they have napkin dispensers, spoons, tops, and bags for takeout, etc.
Your job is to produce the project software diagrams for the gelato store: (Obviously you are limited in time, see how many of these you can create.)
1. Build a DFD diagram for the gelato store (i.e., diagram 7-5)
2. Build several Use Cases for the gelato store (i.e., 7-32)
3. Build several Activity Diagrams for the gelato store (i.e., 7-37)
4. Build BPM diagram for the gelato store (i.e., 7-42)
