For a spherical mirror approximating a parabolic mirror, if the object is beyond the center of curvature, i.e., the center of curvature is between the object and the mirror itself, then the image will be real, inverted, and reduced in size; and if the object is as at the center of curvature, the image will be real, the same size as the original, and inverted. I have a few questions: (1) what governs whether the image forms outside the mirror (real) or behind the mirror (virtual)? (2) why does the image invert in these two scenarios? (3) Why is the image smaller to the left of the center and the same size only at the center? Thanks. P.S.
