Hello and welcome to this video of graphing a linear inequality.
00:04
Our inequality is 2x plus y is greater than negative 5.
00:07
Now our goal here is to switch it around and get it into slope intercept form.
00:13
So i'm going to subtract 2x from both sides.
00:16
And when i do that i end up getting y is greater than, and i want to write my x term first, negative 2x minus 5.
00:26
I have it in slope intercept form.
00:29
So i'll start at negative 5 on the y -axis.
00:31
And i'm going to use my slope of negative 2.
00:34
Now a negative slope goes down from left to right, so it's going to kind of look like this right here.
00:39
So i can go down 2 and then to the right 1, and there's going to be a point right here, or i can go up to and to the left one, and i'll have a point right there.
00:51
Now i want to take a look at my inequality.
00:53
My inequality is just greater than, not greater than or equal to...
