1. I think what Staples meant by the ability to alter a public place
assumed to be doing immoral things that affected not only himself but others in the public eye 2. The thesis of this short essay is how the author learns of people generalizing him and fearing because of his race. 3. Staples tries nodding and being friendly to make outsiders feel more comfortable and less afraid around him. 4. Uninflammitory- It is used in the sense of a distance that is medium sized but not small, Unwieldly- as in a large task or ability, Vulnerable- as in innocent or helpless, retrospect- past events or previously happened, constitutionals- walks taken to clear your mind.

does spark my interest because it makes me want to know more
about the victim and what occurred.

He could have used other friends who are experiencing the same feeling. 4. The tone the author uses describes an annoyed or disappointed feel, as people are always judging him and he is hurt by it. 5. Some information he added that helped support his thesis was towards paragraph marking tt9) where the woman has the dog extended towards him as to protect herself from Staples
