This means that he was alive for 9/11 which was, and remains to be, a significant historical event on American soil. Although this was a traumatic event for those who remembered it, Chris says he has no first-hand memories of the day. Any memories Chris has are from what he has been told. Since Chris has spent his whole life in the St. Louis area, he has some first-hand experiences with the increasing racial turbulence in the area. In the summer of 2015, Chris and his girlfriend (Jamie) were stuck on the interstate for about an hour as a Ferguson protest took place in the road. Chris said the protesters held hands across the interstate to block traffic from continuing on. Chris's cohort was the first to have such technological amenities such as the iPhone and mass social media. These allow Chris to have almost instantaneous access to information as well as near constant contact to individuals that are not physically close to Chris. Other cohort events that Chris and his cohort have experiences are the election of the first black president and the turn of a millennium. Although events as such may not have had a direct initial impact on Chris. they can have an effect on him as he ages. Life events: Chris was born September 1, 1997 in St. Louis, Missouri. When Chris was five, his birth parents began their divorce. This was a result of his mother wanting to move Chris to a better neighborhood because she did not believe that their current one was particularly safe Since Chris's father did not want to move, this cause turmoil which resulted in divorce. About Running head: Biopsychosocial Interview 2 five years ago, Chris mom remarried to his current stepfather. Chris graduated high school in St. Louis in the spring of 2016 and moved to Tuscaloosa the following August. Chris's parents' divorce seems to have impacted his continuing relationship with his father. Chris appeared to have taken his mother's side of the divorce. When asking Chris about his father, his tone became more pessimistic and he only had negative things to say regarding his father. For instance, Chris made snide remarks about his father's lack of timeliness. Environment Social groups: The client does not participate in many social groups in Tuscaloosa. He is fairly new to the city and appears to have not made many strong social connections yet. His main relations are with his girlfriend, Jamie, and one of his roommates, Jackson. According to Chris. he tends to spend most of his time with Jamie. Chris does keep in contact with his friends from high school; however, because of the distance, he does not get a chance to see them often. Formal organizations: Chris holds a job as a busser at a local restaurant. There he works about 20-30 hours a week
